BETTER CALL SAUL

Better Call Saul in 2025 – Legacy, Closure, and What Comes Next

Better Call Saul concluded in August 2022 with its sixth season delivering closure for Jimmy McGill, Saul Goodman, and Kim Wexler. The final chapter titled Saul Gone brought the journey full circle, weaving together law firm drama, moral descent, and redemption. Co creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould agreed it was the perfect time to end, emphasizing the power of knowing when to leave the party.

Since the finale the creators have held back on new spin offs. In 2025 Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan confirmed they have no active plans for another Breaking Bad or Saul Goodman project. Yet they left the door slightly ajar with a small but expressive note about never saying never. The narrative realm of Albuquerque may be closed for now but has not been erased.

Fans continue to celebrate the show’s legacy. A book titled Saul Goodman V Jimmy McGill by Alan Sepinwall was released in early 2025. In it Gould shares anecdotes and reflections including how AMC nearly scrapped the character of Saul Goodman early on. The book also highlights the relationship between Jimmy and Kim Wexler as deeply ambivalent—a bond that continues to spark debate and fascination.

Audiences also remain enthralled by animated spin offs. The short form series Slippin’ Jimmy continues to revisit the early years of Jimmy McGill with humor and genre homage. Alongside two new original shorts the series is part of AMC’s efforts to revisit the world without unraveling it.

Among fan circles speculation remains lively. Many express interest in a Gus Fring prequel or a story centered on the Salamanca family. Others mention Rhea Seehorn’s upcoming sci fi series for Apple TV plus called Wycaro 339 as a creative spiritual successor—co written by Gilligan and starring Rhea Seehorn.

In sum Better Call Saul remains complete and powerful. Its universe rests in memory but resonates through culture. While no new seasons are coming, the spirit of the show lives on in books thoughts and fan devotion. It remains an example of storytelling that both ended well and continues to inspire.
