Foxtrot Six – Revolution Has a New Face

Foxtrot Six (2019), directed by Randy Korompis, is an Indonesian-American sci-fi action thriller that blends high-octane warfare with a dark political edge. Set in a near-future Indonesia gripped by famine and ruled by a ruthless populist regime, the film explores the brutal cost of resistance and the enduring hope for freedom.

The story follows Angga (Oka Antara), a former marine turned rising political figure in the authoritarian PIRANHA party. When his conscience begins to clash with the party’s violent methods, he’s forced into hiding after refusing to carry out a deadly mission. Years later, drawn back into a world of betrayal and rebellion, Angga reunites with his old military squad—codenamed “Foxtrot Six”—to rise against the very government he once served.

With the aid of his long-lost wife Sari (Julie Estelle), now a revolutionary leader, Angga must battle both his past and the overwhelming forces of a regime that uses fear, starvation, and propaganda as weapons. What follows is a brutal, fast-paced campaign across war-torn cities, high-tech bunkers, and political minefields.

Produced by Mario Kassar (of Terminator 2 and Rambo fame), Foxtrot Six brings Hollywood-style action to Southeast Asia—complete with armored drones, hand-to-hand combat, and sweeping gunfights. But it also carries weightier themes: the manipulation of media, the fragility of democracy, and the sacrifices required for real change.

Foxtrot Six is more than a fight for survival—it’s a fight for the soul of a nation.

Because when the people are starving,
And truth is buried beneath bullets—
Sometimes the only way forward
Is to fight from the ashes.
