Intelligence Has Never Been This Dumb
Maxwell Smart is back and the world is once again in serious danger which means it is time for some seriously questionable spy work. In Get Smart 2024 Steve Carell returns as the accident prone yet surprisingly effective Agent 86 joined once more by the ever suave Agent 23 played by Dwayne Johnson. Together they face a new global threat from an old enemy and absolutely no common sense.
When a mysterious tech villain begins hacking intelligence agencies around the world and causing international chaos CONTROL is forced to activate its most unpredictable team. Unfortunately they are already on vacation.
Max Smart still convinced he is the greatest spy alive stumbles his way through exploding gadgets hostile disguises and painfully awkward interrogations. Agent 23 on the other hand tries to keep everything under control but ends up in more trouble than he bargained for especially when he realizes the villain has a personal grudge against him.
The duo travels from the streets of Berlin to the casinos of Macau in a wild chase filled with car crashes unintentional heroics and misunderstandings that almost end the world multiple times. Thankfully Max always has a backup plan. Or at least a backup excuse.
Get Smart 2024 delivers fast paced action clever slapstick and enough spy clichés to fill a secret lair. But at its heart it is about friendship loyalty and proving that sometimes the least likely person really can save the day.
Just maybe not on purpose. This mission is classified chaotic and completely ridiculous. And that is exactly how Max likes it.
