Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard 2 (2025): More Bullets, More Chaos, and Even Less Patience
The world’s most dysfunctional trio is back — louder, deadlier, and more completely unhinged than ever. Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard 2 (2025) reunites Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, and Salma Hayek in a no-rules, high-octane sequel that dials everything up to eleven: the action, the profanity, and the absurdity.
Set two years after the mayhem in Europe, bodyguard Michael Bryce (Reynolds) is still trying to take a sabbatical from bodyguarding — and from therapy. But peace is short-lived when Sonia Kincaid (Hayek), the ever-explosive wife of assassin Darius Kincaid (Jackson), crashes into his life again, quite literally, with a grenade and a brand-new mission: their baby has been kidnapped. And worse? The kidnapper is an international arms dealer with a personal grudge... and a nuclear submarine.
What follows is a global chase across Rome, Tokyo, and a ridiculously large yacht, packed with over-the-top stunts, car chases, and at least six scenes where Michael screams “WHY AM I HERE?!” while dodging bullets. New to the cast is Dwayne Johnson as Agent Knox, a government operative with bigger muscles than patience, who’s not thrilled to be stuck working with “these lunatics.”
The film leans into its chaos with gleeful energy — it knows it’s ridiculous, and it runs full speed into that madness. The chemistry between the leads is razor-sharp and constantly hilarious, with Hayek stealing nearly every scene she’s in. Jackson delivers his signature fury with swagger, and Reynolds remains the king of comic timing and deadpan disbelief.
Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard 2 is not a film that takes itself seriously — and that’s its charm. It’s loud, bloody, inappropriate, and absolutely entertaining. In a world full of polished action flicks, this one proudly kicks the door down and yells “Boom, baby!”
