Twisters - Into the Storm

A High Voltage Return to Tornado Country

Twisters is a 2024 disaster film directed by Lee Isaac Chung, serving as a standalone sequel to the 1996 classic Twister. While it doesn’t revisit the original characters, it captures the same thrilling spirit with a new cast, modern technology, and even more intense tornado sequences.

The story follows Kate Carter, a former storm chaser turned cautious meteorologist, played by Daisy Edgar Jones. After surviving a devastating EF5 tornado, she retreats to a quieter life in New York. But when a former colleague, Javi, convinces her to test a new storm tracking system in Oklahoma, Kate is pulled back into the heart of the storm. There, she encounters Tyler Owens, a flashy, fearless social media storm chaser known for his daredevil antics and magnetic charm, portrayed by Glen Powell.

As a series of unprecedented and destructive tornadoes—including fiery tornadoes—begin to wreak havoc across the plains, Kate, Tyler, and Javi must overcome personal differences and team up to survive nature’s fury. The film blends heart pounding action with emotional arcs, highlighting trauma, trust, and the relentless human desire to understand and conquer nature.
